Primary Application Pyrene® 1073 is a liquid, low-foaming, alkaline detergent for aluminum. It’s specially formulated for fast and thorough spray or agitated immersion cleaning of aluminum alloys at fuel-saving, low-to-medium operating temperatures.
Pyrene 1073 will slightly brighten some aluminum surfaces and it will not form sludge in the tank. Designed to remove mill oils, drawing compounds and other metalworking fluids, Pyrene 1073 features exceptionally strong surfactant penetrating action and soil-dispersing ability for thorough cleaning and rinsing, as well as long solution life for material savings. The special surfactant package in Pyrene 1073 is designed to release removed oils, allowing them to float to the surface for easy skimming and disposal. Pyrene 1073 is free of silicate and phosphate and is biodegradable.

Application Procedure
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Pyrene 1073 is normally used in spray washers or agitated immersion tanks at 1 – 5% by volume, 120 – 140 ºF (49 – 60 ºC), 10 – 25 psi (0.7 – 1.7 bar) for 60 – 90 seconds. Exact parameters depend on soils and extent of soil build-up in solution.Solution Control: For titrating Pyrene 1073 use Gardotest Procedure 214.
Sample Size: 10.0 mls Factor: 1.2% by volume
